The Arboretum

We went to the Dallas Arboretum on Monday with my sister Jennifer and her kids. It has been years since I've been and the kids didn't even remember going there - even though all of mine have been several times when they were younger. We packed picnic lunches and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I wish we lived closer to the arboretum, it would be nice to go more often.

Johnny, Ethan, Tristan, Ben and Natalie enjoying the pumpkins. Only one missing in the photo is little Aubrey.

That's my Natalie :)

The Primary Program

This is the first year that all three of our kids were in the Primary Program. As luck would have it, I am in the Primary Presidency so I had to sit with them and didn't get to "see" the performance. All three of them did a wonderful job, I am so proud of them all. Johnny memorized his part, Ben gave a little talk and Natalie sang a special song with all the Sunbeams. One benefit of being up front is that you get to watch everyone's facial expressions and reactions to the children's performance. I kept watching people laughing and smiling during the songs and looking towards one group of Sunbeams (of course it is the group that I can't see). Well afterwards I found out that Natalie and a few of her Sunbeam friends were putting on a bit of a show. Silly girls :)

Nana Grumbles' 89th Birthday

It was my Grandma Grumbles'(the kids all call her Nana) 89th birthday last Saturday and we were all able to celebrate it with her. It was a house full of kids and excitement. I hope that she enjoyed all the company and felt how loved she really is by all of us. I feel that it has been a great blessing for my children to be able to get to know this wonderful lady (Natalie's middle name is after her). I only wish that they had the opportunity to get to know their other great grandparents, on my side of the family, as well as they know her. Happy Birthday Grandma, I love you!

Johnny's Kinder Sing

Johnny had his "Kinder Sing" last night at school. He was so excited about it and did a wonderful job. He was completely into the performance (he was even clapping for himself and the others when the songs were done - it was very cute). Thomas' parents were able to attend, which made it all the more exciting for him. It's so fun to watch him (and all my kids) participate in activities like this!

I tried to get a good picture of the three, but Ben was distracted by the refreshment table and Natalie was distracted by all the commotion going on around her. At least Johnny is looking at the camera:)
