This is Ben. No, he is not sleeping. He is playing his Didj and the sun was causing too much of a glare for him.
The USS Texas and San Jacinto Battleground
Ben really wanted to go on the battleship, but I didn't. He kept asking me and started to wear me down. I was afraid someone would fall off. I went into the gift shop (where you buy the tickets to go on the boat) to think about it and decided to ask the lady working there if anyone has ever fallen off. She said "Oh, yes it happens all the time, kids not paying attention, ladies who think it is a good idea to wear high heals and trip and fall off and last week a kid was playing with one of the guns and knocked his dad overboard." That sealed the deal for me, we were NOT going to go on the ship this time. Maybe when I know everyone could swim to safety if something crazy happened and they went overboard.

Galveston
The kids REALLY enjoyed the beach. It was a lot of fun to watch how happy they were. Johnny has been asking for over a year to go to the beach due to the Beaches Resort "commercial" that comes on right before Sesame Street starts.
Here is my sweet little Johnny with his bum showing. As many of you know this is a common look for him and he is fine with it. We even had to put sunscreen on it so that he wouldn't get a sunburn there. Silly guy.
Here are the kids in what Johnny referred to as his "vacation home".
NASA
NASA had a Star Wars the Clone Wars exhibit going on when we were there. One of the things that you could do was fight the separatists. Of coarse ALL of the boys wanted to do this. The picture above was when they first got their laser guns. Notice in the picture below where Ben thinks it is a good idea to shoot his gun (notice the little red laser dot on Johnny's head). Nice Ben.
We had a wonderful time on our vacation and wish that it could have lasted a little longer. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to do, but, as I told Ben, that is okay. It just gives us a reason to go back. I feel so very lucky and blessed to have such wonderful and fun kids (they are really entertaining). It is so fun to watch them experience things for the first time and to be able to share such historically rich experiences and places with them. This was our first real vacation as a family and I know that many more great ones are awaiting us!!

Looks like you all had a great time! We'll definitely have to plan a trip there ourselves. How was the ocean...did the water have oil deposits in it?
We had a great time. Ethan and Tristan would love NASA. The ocean was fine where we were, we didn't see any oil deposits or anything. We were wondering if we would, but luckily for us we didn't.
haha the advertising before sesame street is working! cute blog! -Amy
